With August fast approaching, it is time once again to welcome you to another school year.

Our staff members have been very busy this summer. Some of the teachers have participated in staff development workshops which enabled them to further their expertise in various curriculum areas. Others have spent time previewing instructional materials for use in their classrooms. Still others have participated on district level curriculum teams that help define and establish the curriculum for our schools. Along with all their summer work, I'm sure they have found some time to relax and refresh themselves in preparation for another busy school year.

Our custodial staff has been working hard to ensure that your children will start school in a clean and attractive building. They've done a detailed cleaning of the entire school including shampooing carpets and waxing and buffing all of the tiled floor surfaces. We have had a small amount of painting done to the exterior of our school to touch up some areas that have weathered over the years.

Since we recognize that parents are their children's first and most important teachers, we need your cooperation and involvement to provide them with the best education possible. Take time to talk with your children about their school experiences. Your interest and concern in their school progress will motivate them to do their best. Maintain contact with your children's teachers and with me. Ask questions and communicate concerns so we can build a partnership that will ensure your child's success.

Our school takes a great deal of pride in being one of the best in Kansas at providing a high quality education for all children. I believe we have an outstanding staff and I'm confident your child will have an enjoyable experience in our school while achieving at a high level. I look forward to working with you toward a successful and rewarding school year.

Respectfully,

Alan Hageman, Principal
